Overview Air Reserve Technician (ART) officer position located at 459 OPERATIONS SUPPORT FT 0000 with the military rank of Lt. Col. / O-5. This is an ART Officer role in an Air Force Reserve unit. The primary duties involve developing plans, planning and conducting exercises, and training reservists; also providing training to reservists to accomplish tasks as required. Duties Prepares installation OPlans at assigned units. Participates in development and/or review of logistics planning and programming documentation. Plans for and evaluates Wing readiness in coordination with LG counterpart. Develops, schedules, and conducts aircrew mission training and training materials. Participates in conferences, seminars, meetings, panels, and committees related to assigned areas. As a mission-ready rated pilot on flying status, conducts proficiency and upgrade training including theory, classroom, and flight practice as required. Conditions of employment U.S. Citizenship is required. Must be a current AF Reserve member or willing/qualified to join. Must obtain and retain a Top Secret security clearance. PCS may be paid per DoD/AF regulations; may require signing a CONUS agreement. Total salary varies by location. Subject to DoD Priority Placement Program; mobility agreement required. This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP); random drug testing applies. May require work outside normal hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays; shift work and emergency overtime possible. Qualifications THIS IS AN AIR RESERVE TECHNICIAN OFFICER POSITION. The ART Officer is located at the listed unit with rank of Lt. Col. / O-5. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Three years of progressively responsible experience in a flying component of the US military, including ability to formulate plans and policies for operation and training of aircrew units; at least one year at a level comparable to GS-13. SUBSTITUTION: Educational or military training substitutions apply as described in the original vacancy notice. CERTIFICATION: Must hold or qualify for USAF Pilot qualification; instrument hours and total flight time requirements apply as described in the original vacancy notice. KSAs: Knowledge of flying operations, DOD planning and programming, aircraft employment, Air Force Reserve relationships; abilities to plan, organize, and communicate effectively. OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS: ART duties, mobility requirements, occasional non-ART duties up to 30% of responsibilities, standardization/evaluation flight participation, ability to work irregular hours, and other requirements per AFRC guidance.
