Are you a passionate developer looking to launch your career in full stack application development with a hybrid role based in Westbrook, Maine?

A leading employer in the Westbrook area is seeking a motivated and collaborative Application Developer to join its growing software engineering team. This hybrid position requires onsite work at least two days per week and is ideal for someone with 1 to 3 years of experience in Java, JavaScript, React, and TypeScript.

You’ll be part of a fast-paced environment where your contributions will directly support the development of innovative, scalable, and user-friendly software solutions.

Location : Westbrook, Maine

Work Schedule : Full-time, Hybrid – Onsite at least 2 days per week (or more as needed)

Schedule : Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM

Experience Level : Entry-level, 1 to 3 years of professional experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, debug, and maintain full stack web applications in accordance with defined technical specifications
• Collaborate with analysts and project teams to build scalable, reliable software solutions
• Design and document application architecture and coding practices
• Support and enhance existing applications based on evolving business needs
• Estimate and track time for tasks to align with project budgets and timelines
• Understand and integrate business functionality into technical solutions
• Participate in team planning and code reviews to maintain high-quality standards
• Deliver high levels of internal customer service while supporting end-user application needs
• Potential to contribute to system architecture and broader software strategies

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java , JavaScript , React , and TypeScript for full stack web application development
• Familiarity with relational databases and SQL
• Understanding of both procedural and object-oriented programming principles
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Self-motivated and results-oriented mindset
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative development team
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum
• Familiarity with development languages like ABAP, Visual Basic, or similar
• Comfortable working in situations where requirements may not be fully defined
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a technical environment
• Understanding of application deployment and maintenance best practices

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use
• Some travel may be required
