About the Role:

The Armed Security Officer plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of the Headquarters facility and its personnel. This position involves vigilant monitoring of premises, proactive threat assessment, and rapid response to any security incidents to prevent harm or loss. The officer will serve as a visible deterrent to unauthorized activities while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and organizational policies. Collaboration with law enforcement and emergency services is essential to effectively manage incidents and maintain a secure environment. Ultimately, the role ensures a safe workplace that supports uninterrupted business operations and protects valuable assets.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid armed security officer license or certification as required by local and state regulations.
  • Completion of mandatory firearms training and certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in armed security or law enforcement roles.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
  • Physical fitness sufficient to perform security duties, including standing for extended periods and responding to emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in corporate or government security environments.
  • Additional certifications in first aid, CPR, or emergency response.
  • Familiarity with advanced security technology such as biometric access controls and integrated surveillance systems.
  • Training in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
  • Military or law enforcement background.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular patrols of the Headquarters premises to detect and deter suspicious activities or security breaches.
  • Monitor surveillance equipment and access control systems to ensure only authorized personnel enter restricted areas.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, including providing first aid or coordinating with emergency responders as needed.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records of daily activities and security-related occurrences.
  • Enforce company policies and legal regulations related to security, including the proper handling and use of firearms and other security equipment.

The Armed Security Officer utilizes strong observational and situational awareness skills daily to identify potential threats and maintain a secure environment. Effective communication skills are essential for coordinating with team members, reporting incidents clearly, and interacting professionally with employees and visitors. Proficiency in operating security technology, including surveillance cameras and access control systems, enables efficient monitoring and control of the premises. The ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under pressure is critical when responding to emergencies or security breaches. Additionally, knowledge of legal regulations and proper firearm handling ensures compliance and safety in all security operations.
