We seek an energetic, approachable and experienced counselor who is passionate about working with college-aged and non-traditional students. The clinical counselor will play a crucial role in supporting the emotional and psychological well-being of ASU students within a Step Care Model serving both on-campus and online students who reside in the state of Colorado. Responsibilities include providing a range of mental health services to address the diverse needs of our student population such as assisting in the daily operations of the Counseling Center, carrying a reasonable individual counseling caseload, developing and facilitating group therapy, and providing outreach and prevention programming. The Clinical Counselor, who reports to the Director of Counseling Services, will work on a 10-month contract providing services during the academic year (August-May). Duties include assisting in daily operations of the ASU Counseling Center, conducting initial mental health assessments, triaging and assigning students to appropriate care levels, providing culturally responsive mental health services, short-term individual counseling, crisis intervention, group therapy sessions, developing individualized treatment plans, collaborating with external providers, designing educational programs and workshops, and promoting mental health awareness and prevention efforts on campus. Required qualifications include MA/MS in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field, licensure-eligible with temporary licensure permit (LPCC or equivalent), and minimum one year experience with college-aged students. Preferred qualifications include licensure in Colorado (LPC or LCSW), experience in prevention and awareness activities, supervising clinicians-in-training, and cultural competence. Salary range is $46,692 - $59,520 (10-month contract paid over 12 months) with competitive benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
