Job Summary

Support Specialist responsibilities entail performing various functions to assist with Medical Record requests, interacting with clients, and performing coding tasks. The position will be crossed trained to handle medical record requests, coding ICD-10 and CPT medical records and assist with other coding related tasks as needed. Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise Strong Communication Skills Knowledge with HIPPA regulations and ability to keep confidential information secure Ability to organize projects

  • Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology Medical coding guidelines and regulations including compliance and reimbursement
  • Analytical reasoning
  • Excel and other Microsoft Office applications Able to work in a production driven environment Position Requirements (Education, Experience, Licensure/Certifications)
  • High School Diploma or GED required. AAPC CPC certification preferred and/or a combination of experience with education in medical environment to include ICD 10 and CPT coding experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Remote work readiness with reliable high-speed internet connectivity Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities 1. Interact with team members, clients and client staff in a positive manner, whereby treating all internal and external customers with respect 2. Respond promptly to urgent medical record requests 3. Review medical records to ensure completeness and accuracy 4. Prepare patient medical records for electronic/physical storage and submit medical records as requested. 5. Perform ICD-10 and CPT coding 6. Maintain high level of patient confidentially and HIPPA regulations. 7. Consistently meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards. 8.
