Job Overview: We seek an experienced attorney skilled in compliance investigations to join our Legal Department’s Enterprise Investigations unit. Our team of seven internal investigators handles reports and allegations related to healthcare fraud, conflicts of interest, theft, fraudulent schemes, data privacy, discrimination, harassment, and other misconduct. Responsibilities include: Managing complex investigations, including case intake, background research, interviews, and stakeholder debriefs. Reviewing and analyzing reports from Cigna’s Ethics Help Line and other channels. Promptly assessing, investigating, and resolving compliance, ethics, and misconduct reports. Partnering with e-discovery and forensic teams to identify relevant data. Conducting internal investigations, reviewing documents, and interviewing relevant individuals under counsel supervision. Documenting investigative actions, findings, and preparing reports. Collaborating with HR on employment actions arising from investigations. Conducting root cause analyses and determining remedial actions and disclosures to authorities. Ensuring policies, procedures, and training are updated based on investigation findings. Fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and compliance. Qualifications: Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school. 5-8 years of experience managing complex investigations, preferably in healthcare or corporate investigations. Strong prioritization, communication, and analytical skills. Knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations. Ability to review complex data and present findings clearly. Commitment to ethical decision-making and integrity. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to travel occasionally. Additional Details: This role is hybrid, requiring 3 days in the office. Reliable internet connection (cable broadband or fiber optic, minimum 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload) is necessary for remote work.
