Job Description
️ About The Role - We're looking for a talented mid-to-senior full-stack (Go/Typescript based) engineer engineer to join Hardfin and help expand our platform. Our vision includes many technically challenging systems and data problems, some of which are features that are already spec'd and some that are yet to be developed.
- You'll partner with the Head of Engineering and CEO to execute a plan that will get us there. We're fast and scrappy, so not opposed to shortcuts that help us launch and iterate quality products quickly. You will be involved in shaping our technical direction from the start. This includes the difficult tradeoffs of what has to be built right today, what could be rebuilt next year, and what needs to wait entirely. You'll set the tone for Hardfin technical talent.
Currently seeking candidates based in San Francisco Bay Area and Denver metro areas. We have a distributed team in San Fransisco and Denver. (We are hiring for this role in California and Colorado only. Other locations will not be considered and applications will be respectfully declined. This role is US only—international applications will be deleted. Valid work authorization is required and we do not sponsor visas.) About The Company Hardfin is a B2B software platform for equipment manufacturers (e.g., agriculture, construction, robotics, 3D printing) that enables them to offer track their assets and manage projects for their hardware. Our
HaaS operations platform allows equipment manufacturers to offer hardware-as-a-service (HaaS) subscriptions—track assets, upsell services, manage recurring projects, automate reporting, and integrate customer data.
The hardware industry is massive and behind the software curve on subscriptions (i.e., HaaS). Companies struggle with many systems (data, sales, finance) for businesses that are focused on building great hardware. Longstanding companies have captive financing subsidiaries to manage leasing (e.g., Caterpillar, John Deere)—but young companies haven’t cracked the code to make it seamless.
Hardfin cracks the code. We solve the complex system and data problems for our customers and enable smooth subscriptions for all teams (sales, operations, engineering, finance). Our platform unlocks new capabilities for the equipment industry to transition to modern business models.
Our founder & CEO is Zachary Kimball. Our head of engineering is Brian Weisbart. - Zack was most recently a startup business leader in data & analytics at Skupos, where he helped grow the B2B software platform. Zack’s background is in payments, venture finance, and mortgage finance. He's a former McKinsey consultant and Harvard Law School alum. Early in his career, he was a freelance payments and database developer.
- Brian has over 15 years experience in scaling software products at various start-ups. His work covers regulated financial and medical products through roles at Butter, GoodRx, and Tala. Brian lives in Colorado in southeast Aurora, his hobbies include cooking, visiting national parks, and video games. He is excited about data, consistency, and scaling.
