We have an opportunity for someone looking to perform professional statistical and spatial analysis, Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping, Information Technology technical work supporting desktop, legacy systems, databases, and/or Information Technology GIS functions, and producing relevant text and presentation graphics utilizing multiple GIS software packages. Some of the day-to-day duties include: Assisting with processing of enterprise spatial data based on stewardship processes. Assisting with stewardship and management of enterprise data, incorporating improvements to workflows and new technologies as appropriate and consistent with technology direction of OIT GIS. Acting as a support resource for administration and maintenance of enterprise GIS data set services that support web applications. Identify data and analysis for decision making and turning the results or analytical tools into mapping applications with well-designed user interfaces. Assisting in managing and publishing data, features, and other services supported on these servers. Coordinating aggregation and distribution of LiDAR and Imagery data in partnership with OIT GIS staff and other state agencies. Provide access and training on our LiDAR and Imagery data. Working with OIT GIS outreach team to document uses of enterprise data and identify new uses of data and to add additional value to data sets. Documenting all processes and workflows to assist with training of OIT GIS staff on processing procedures. A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and state seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. While most salary offers are made within the posted range, occasionally an offer is made below or above the posted range based upon this salary analysis. This is a skills-based job announcement. The required minimum qualifications and/or education (if substituting for the proven experience, knowledge, and skills), are as follows: Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of one (1) year of professional experience in GIS, Urban Planning, or comparable field utilizing the ESRI ArcGIS PRO and/or ArcGIS Online. [ESRI ArcGIS PRO and/or ArcGIS Online experience must be clearly displayed on your application to be considered] Experience performing GIS Data Quality Assurance and Maintenance. Substitutions: Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications. Training or Certification related to the work assigned to the position will be assigned credit towards substitution for experience and/or education, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications. If the minimum qualifications include a degree requirement, additional appropriate paid or unpaid experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with GIS Metadata. Familiarity with data collection methods, including GPS, remote sensing, and field. Basic understanding of database concepts. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment. Conditions of Employment: OIT candidates and employees must comply with any screening procedures in place at state entity locations where they might be required to perform work. A pre-employment background check will be conducted as part of the selection process. Positions supporting some agencies such as the Department of Corrections and the Department of Public Safety will also require a pre-employment drug test. This position may require travel within the specified geographic area, and to locations across the state as needed. This position may require on-call duties as needed by the position. All remote work must be performed in Colorado.
