Ponderosa Medical Billing Service Inc., based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, is a trusted company specializing in medical billing for healthcare providers, including physicians, mental health, and ABA services. We are seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to manage billing operations, ensure timely claim submission, and support accurate reimbursement. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, knowledge of medical billing procedures, and the ability to communicate effectively with insurance providers and patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies.
Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility.
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims to resolve issues.
Generate and send patient statements and address billing inquiries.
Maintain accurate billing records while ensuring patient confidentiality.
Stay updated on healthcare billing regulations and compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical billing or coding preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in medical billing or related field.
Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 codes, and insurance procedures.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to work independently.
Proficiency with medical billing software and Microsoft Office.
