Vivo HealthStaff is seeking a highly qualified and motivated MD/JD Attorney who is a previously practicing physician and licensed lawyer to join the Healthcare Practice Group of a nationally recognized law firm. This role focuses on advising healthcare clients on billing, reimbursement compliance, regulatory matters, and fraud and abuse laws.

Details:

• Provide legal counsel on Medicare, Medicaid, and VA/Tricare reimbursement requirements
• Advise clients on fraud and abuse compliance, including structuring transactions consistent with Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and False Claims Act regulations
• Assist healthcare providers with enrollment, claims submission, and billing compliance issues
• Offer strategic guidance on business relationships and transactions involving hospitals, physician groups, academic medical centers, skilled nursing facilities, and home health agencies
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to address complex healthcare regulatory and compliance challenges

Candidate Profile:

• MD and JD degrees with active bar admission in the applicable state
• Previously practiced as a licensed physician
• 10+ years of experience advising healthcare clients or engaging in policymaking related to billing and reimbursement including Medicare, Medicaid, and VA/Tricare
• Deep expertise in federal fraud and abuse laws such as Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, and False Claims Act
• Proven experience structuring business relationships to ensure regulatory compliance
• Experience with private payors is a plus
