PRESCHOOL TEACHER
Overview of the Job
A pre-K teacher, also known as a preschool teacher, is an educator who primarily focuses on instructing and caring for young children, typically aged between three and five years old, by teaching basic skills like colors, shapes, numbers, letters, social skills, and language development, with the goal of preparing them for kindergarten through play-based learning and activities that promote overall development across cognitive, social, emotional, and physical areas; they often work in early childhood education centers or private preschools, creating a nurturing environment to support each child's individual needs while monitoring their progress and communicating with parents regularly.
Experience and Qualifications
Must have a degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, strong communication skills, creativity, patience, excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to organize effectively, and a deep understanding of child development, often accompanied by state-specific licensing and certification requirements.
