The Technical Writer will collaborate closely with chemists, engineers, and operations leaders to translate complex polymer chemistry processes into standardized procedures and visual workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Documentation Development: Author, edit, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), Batch Records, and training modules in Dozuki.
Translate highly technical polymer chemistry and resin synthesis processes into accessible, step-by-step instructions.
Incorporate hazard tables, safety guidelines, equipment requirements, and process flow diagrams.
Process & Quality Alignment: Ensure documentation complies with ISO 9001, Quality Management Systems (QMS), and internal standards.
Collaborate with Quality, R&D, and Production teams to capture and standardize best practices.
Manage controlled revisions, approvals, and version history through Dozuki.
Dozuki Platform Support: Serve as subject-matter coordinator for Dozuki implementation in Polymer Chemistry.
Build and format Dozuki content with step images, diagrams, videos, and metadata for ease of use on the manufacturing floor.
Train and support chemists, operators, and team leaders in navigating and applying Dozuki documentation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with R&D to ensure knowledge transfer of new resin formulations and experimental processes into production-ready documentation.
Partner with Operations and Engineering to document equipment operation, troubleshooting guides, and preventive maintenance procedures.
Act as liaison between Resin Synthesis and other value streams to ensure consistency and harmonization of documentation.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Technical Writing, or related discipline. Advanced degree preferred but not required.
Experience:
1+ years of experience in technical writing within a chemical manufacturing, polymer chemistry, or life sciences environment.
Prior experience with Dozuki, PLM systems, or other digital documentation platforms strongly preferred.
Familiarity with resin synthesis, column packing, or related chemical manufacturing processes a plus.
Skills:
Exceptional technical writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to interpret scientific/engineering data and translate into clear, user-friendly instructions.
Proficiency with visual documentation tools (diagramming software, photo/video editing for instruction capture).
Strong project management and organizational skills to manage multiple documentation updates in parallel.
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ISO standards, and EHS compliance.
