Job Description: Med Surg Oncology RN - 12H Nights

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Med Surg Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) for a 12-hour night shift position. This role requires 48 hours of work per week and demands flexibility with scheduling, particularly on weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a Med Surg Oncology unit.


• Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in their condition.


• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.


• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.


• Ensure compliance with all healthcare policies and regulations.

Position Details

• Shift: 12-hour Nights


• Contract Duration: 91 weeks


• Orientation: Every other Monday


• Weekend Requirements: 2-3 weekends per month based on unit needs


• Initial Start Date: 10/20

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant specialty.


• Current BLS certification; ACLS certification is preferred.


• Previous travel experience is required.


• Cerner experience is preferred.


• Active Virginia / Compact License is required at the time of submission.


• All RTO must be provided at the time of submission.


• Float requirements may apply.

Important Notes

• Locals are now accepted, but this is a one-assignment role with no renewals.


• Client reserves the right to cancel up to 36 hours before an assignment due to census changes.


• Approved declinations for Covid and Flu are accepted.
