Job Summary

The Visa Support Specialist - ITP shall have a crucial role in backing up HRC’s company vision and mission statement regarding the administration and support of Exchange Visitor Trainee and Intern programs. The Visa Specialist will assist with the day-to-day activities mainly concentrated on the intake and processing of sponsorship applications, counseling exchange visitors, and ensuring compliance with visa records. They will assist the exchange visitor regarding the J-1 Intern/Trainee visa by providing pertinent information on immigration laws, such as the policies, manuals, instructions, and guidance of the Department of State and the Department of Homeland Security on SEVIS and other operations involving the Exchange Visitor Program through conversations and correspondence.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Compliance

• Examine and vet programs that fulfill the requirements of the regulations, interview candidates, and aid in vetting exchange visitor applications for sponsorship for HRC’s program designation.

• Assemble consular, pre-arrival, and orientation packets for sponsored exchange visitors.

• Maintain insurance records, CRM, and SEVIS records.

• Aid with program modifications and procedures such as transfers, extensions, amendments, deviations, etc.

• Aid with travel validations, reporting check-ins, and departures.

Engagement

• Communicate with different EVs in the exchange program to provide required check-ins, advice, and support throughout their program.

• Guide the exchange visitor of their program requisites and visa regulations, help them with inquiries concerning relocation and transition (such as housing, social security, banking, taxes, cultural differences, etc.), and assist them with insurance inquiries and claims.

• Obtain testimonials, photos, and videos from EVs to share on social media.

Education and Experience:

• Must be a U.S, citizen or permanent resident of the United States in order to be a Designated School Officer or Alternate Responsible Officer for the Department of Homeland Security's SEVIS system.

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Must have previous client relationship management, customer service, or program management experience.

• Knowledge of immigration regulations related to J visa categories

• Prior international and/or educational experience strongly preferred

• Prior SEVIS experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

● Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
