The Mayor's Office of Contract Services (MOCS) is a New York City oversight and service agency that manages procurement citywide, from planning and release of agency solicitations to payment of vendors. Annually, agencies procure billions in products and services from a diverse pool of vendors across various industries. MOCS aims to ensure that the procurement process remains fair, transparent, efficient, and cost-effective. MOCS facilitates easier business transactions through end-to-end technology tools, increases transparency by publishing enriched data and hosting public hearings, and strengthens procurement operations by providing direct assistance and resources to stakeholders. The agency also partners with other agencies and vendors to identify policy reform areas, leading to ongoing process improvements that reduce administrative burdens and positively impact communities. The MOCS Director serves as the City Chief Procurement Officer. The MOCS team operates in a collaborative, service-focused environment. The Web Designer, part of the Communications unit within the Change Office division, reports directly to the Communications Director. This role involves managing tasks, producing high-quality work, pursuing continuous improvement, and leveraging modern technology. The Web Designer collaborates on projects, maintains operational data, and engages with external stakeholders. Responsibilities: Strategize, execute, oversee, evaluate, and enhance MOCS’ internal and external websites. Assist in website redesigns, ensuring alignment with agency branding, strategy, and standards. Address and resolve website-related issues. Perform content audits to remove redundant or duplicate information. Support the development of new learning materials and edit existing media resources. Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and accessibility guidelines. Collaborate on various digital initiatives with team members. Assist in developing and maintaining trackers and the internal SharePoint site. Preferred Skills: Degree in Communications, Web Design, Graphic Design, or related field. Ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and collaborate effectively in diverse environments. Clear verbal and written communication skills. Ability to simplify complex information and present findings with actionable recommendations. Experience uploading and updating webpage content, troubleshooting, and analytics knowledge. Knowledge of SEO. Strong time management and multitasking skills. At least 2 years as a Webmaster or Web Developer. Proficiency in HTML/CSS, XML; programming in HTML5 is a plus.
